Cruise ducks: all about hiding ducks on a cruise ship

ducks on cruise ships

"I've found a ton of Cruising Ducks! Even my husband is in on it. He loves finding ducks and giving them to me, as it always puts a big smile on my face." We didn’t find any ducks ourselves, though several other fellow passengers hid some too. Elizabeth graduated from New York University's Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute with her M.A. Growing up, she had the privilege of traveling frequently with her family and fell in love with cruising after sailing on the Oasis of the Seas her freshman year of high school. She wanted to pursue a career that highlighted her passion for travel and strengths as a writer.

How does one participate in the cruise duck tradition?

The first one to reach the finish line wins a prize, and the funds raised through the duck sales are donated to a worthy cause. Tags are usually attached with simple rubber bands and the tags are normally laminated or made from durable material. With that being said, here are some tips to help you maximize your efforts when it comes to hunting for those elusive ducks. Today, while there are thousands of smaller discussions happening in individual roll-call threads and cruise forums, there are more than 131,000 people in the main Cruising Ducks group on Facebook. You can also follow the hashtag #CruisingDucks on Instagram as well as other variations. Remember that not everyone has internet while cruising or social media (Facebook or Instagram).

Searching for rubber ducks? Where should you look?

Each duck is usually tagged with a note that might share where the duck came from or instructions for what to do upon finding it. It’s a fun, unspoken rule that once you find a duck, you can either keep it as a souvenir or re-hide it, allowing the fun to continue for others. Carnival Cruise Line brand ambassador John Heald has commented on cruising ducks, and encourages the fun aboard the Carnival cruise ship fleet. The project was a rousing success, with one duck “hiding” in plain sight for three days before being found.

Cruise Ducks: A How-To Guide for Hiders and Seekers

Before a cruise, passengers will purchase (or craft) ducks to hide around the ship for others to find. Oftentimes, there will be a note attached that states the duck's origin. Cruise Hive was established back in 2008 and among the earliest blogs in the industry. Since the start, it's been our aim to provide the latest cruise news covering all the major cruise lines. We make sure cruisers are fully prepared for their cruise vacation with tips on ships and ports.Millions of travelers rely on Cruise Hive in the United States, Europe, Australia, and around the world. The traditional cruise duck is a small rubber duck, similar to the classic bathtub toy, but that’s only the beginning of the fun.

Cruising Duck Facebook Groups

The tops of signs, sitting on tables or chairs, atop a piano, in corners, or in a ship’s atrium are other popular places to hide cruise ducks. Some cruisers also choose to leave a duck in their stateroom for their attendant or future cruisers to find. If you cruise during the holiday season, you might come across Christmas cruise ducks. These festive rubber ducks are often dressed up as Santa Claus, reindeer, or snowmen, and they can add a touch of holiday cheer to your journey.

When hiding your ducks, make sure they’re visible and not tucked away somewhere inaccessible. And if you find a duck, capture a photo and share it on the Cruising Ducks Facebook group. This is a great way to connect with other players and keep a record of all your finds. Maybe you’ve seen pictures of passenger finds posted on Facebook. Or perhaps you’ve gone on a cruise and seen a little rubber duckie sitting in a corner, seemingly hidden but also out of place.

Tags will also include a Facebook group or social media hashtag to use when posting online. While the easiest way to start is with hunting for ducks onboard, many of the advisors TMR spoke with have as much – or more – fun hiding ducks. In the early Cruise Duck days, a few ducks would show up here and there, mostly on Carnival Cruise Line vessels, but they soon jumped ship, expanding to almost every major cruise line out there. The “cruise duck tags” usually contain a story about the passenger or a heartfelt message to the person who finds it.

What the duck? Why people hide these kiddie toys on cruises — and how you can, too

Something to remember if you do embark on hiding ducks on your next cruise, is that you may never know who found your duck (although you might). Even so, your special duck probably brought a smile to someone and could mean more than you know. That way, you can post when you find one of these cute rubber duckies, and the hider can see that they have been found.

In otherwords, when you find a duck hidden somewhere on your ship - either add your own tag or write a quick note to pass on to the next person. This keeps the fun going so other people can have the excitement of finding a duck. If you join Cruising Ducks Original Group, you’ll actually be able to download tags and passports for your cruising ducks. Before you can do this, you do have to join the Facebook Group, but it’s free and a nice group of people who really just want to contribute to the fun.

It’s a small gesture that can add a memorable twist to someone’s cruise. After you’ve spent time following these tips and hopefully finding some cruise ducks, remember to share your success and experiences with others. Posting your finds on social media or cruise forums not only spreads joy but also encourages more passengers to participate in this fun activity. If you hide a duck, consider leaving hints for others to find it.

While the trend dates back to at least 2015, most people credit the trend’s popularity to a 10-year-old girl named Abby Davis. Adam's goal is to enhance your cruising adventures with practical tips and insightful advice, making each of your journeys unforgettable. Other options to check for buying ducks are local discount or dollar stores, as well as flea markets that may have bulk toy vendors. Online auction sites like eBay may also have great deals on ducks perfect for cruising.

For example, the ‘Cruise Ducks – Original Group’ on Facebook has many you can use. If you’re feeling creative, there’s also the option to decorate or make your own ducks from scratch, although this could be too much work for some. Also, make sure that the tags or labels on your ducks are family-friendly, with no inappropriate content, as people of all ages may find them. This helps keep the game fun and suitable for everyone on board. While there are always those who hate ducks and think the practice should be banned, no cruise line has yet added “little rubber ducks” to its list of prohibited items. Some even keep ducks until their next cruise, or photograph them on different adventures at different ports of call, even on different ships as they travel the cruising world.

It is optional to put a passport on your cruising ducks but it makes the activity better since people can contact you and share your ducks on social media while tagging you to say thanks. There's nothing bad about this but if your objective is to randomly convert someone who finds your duck into a new client ... So first off, there's no regulations on packing cruise ducks in your luggage and hiding these ducks on the ship. Additionally, you should avoid hiding ducks in shops since the act of placing or picking something up could be misinterpretted.

Beyond that, you really have the flexibility to be as creative as possible. Because of the bright yellow color of the ducks, they do stick out if you leave them somewhere open. I’ve read various stories about who started this tradition and when it started.

Handcrafted ducks are a popular favorite, or basic ducks may be hand-decorated with extra bling. Many cruisers are opting for even more unique ducks with key chains, magnets, hair barrettes, or plush toys. If you’re planning your next cruise, consider joining the cruise duck movement. It’s an easy, cost-effective way to add an extra dimension of fun to your journey. Of course, as we all know, every party has that notorious pooper. Perhaps not surprisingly, given how big the whole cruising duck phenomenon has become, this particular party has attracted several varieties of complainers on Facebook.

Carnival Cruise Ports: Belize City, Belize

carnival cruise line port in belize

Last November we took a Carnival cruise from Tampa, FL to the western Caribbean. We stopped in Grand Cayman, Roatan Hoduras, Belize and Cozumel Mexico. And as you know, fun things sell out pretty first, so be sure to book some of these excursions early in advance lest you are left out of the fun. If you are never inches apart from your camera, you will love the photo op on this trip. This is for the laid-back folks who are looking for a rustic kind of an excursion.

Things to Know When You Cruise to Belize

As exhilarating as Belize might be, there’s always room for relaxation and time to unwind. Fortunately, Carnival guests have excursions available that will provide you some needed downtime in this Caribbean paradise. On the drinks end, visit mojos lounge or any other bar in the town to enjoy frozen daiquiris, margaritas, the local Belikin beer, and rum punch. The fishermen are so cool, that some just rip open the fresh catch and serve you sushi with a sauce right on the trip.

Airboat Tour of the Wetlands

Navigating Belize City from the cruise port, Tourism Village is simple. Licensed taxis with green license plates wait at the village gates to take you to your destination or tourist attraction. These taxis have a fixed rate system instead of meters, so agreeing on a fare before going on your journey is best. The new Belize cruise port provides an updated experience for all incoming passengers since completing its makeover with new amenities and services. Alongside these retail spots, restaurants offer a taste of local cuisine that will excite food lovers searching for authentic experiences. City's newest attraction is the Museum of Belize, located close to the US Embassy and housed in a former prison.

Long Beach, CA

carnival cruise line port in belize

Belize is the only country in Central America with official language English. The official currency is the Belize Dollar, but US dollars are also accepted in all tourist areas. Belize boasts a delicious mix of different cultural influences when it comes to food. Upon exiting the port security gates, turn right on Fort St, and after a couple of minutes’ walk you’ll reach the Belize Welcome Sign and an iconic red and white Baron Bliss lighthouse. Hashtag your cruise photos #carnival and #belize — you may see them right here. Although Belmopan is the country's capital, Belize City is the largest city with a population of around 110,000.

CHECK OUT THE CARIBBEAN

There are a few car rentals available but once you drive to sites, it is not easy to explore these without guides. The only good and advisable service for cruise passengers is the San Pedro Water Taxi, which runs regular ferries between Belize City and Ambergris Caye and Caye Caulker. The large Italian fleet of MSC also calls at Belize cruise port offering 21 cruise excursions. This said, if you do not have such a legitimate concern, keep in mind that the tender boats dock at the Fort Street Tourism Village, which is right by Belize City downtown. However, two of the most interesting landmarks in Belize City are on distinct sides of the river and not so close to the exit gates of the cruise terminal.

The tour takes you into the rainforest outside of Belize City where you’ll float on a tube through a cave system featuring spectacular rock formations. For updated coronavirus (Covid-19) information and travel advice to Belize and the cruise port in Belize City visit the website of the U.S. The Belize Tourism Board office is located in Belize City across the Swing Bridge on Regent Street, around 0.9 miles (1.4 km) southwest of the cruise port. If you do not wish to venture outside the cruise terminal, there is a good number of restaurants, grills, and bars at the Fort Street Tourism Village where you can taste great food and drinks from Belize.

The flight to Caye Caulker takes less than 10 minutes and only 20 to Ambergris Caye but will run around $75 per person, one way to either location. Be aware that the planes are very small – 5 people – but the views are amazing. The project was budgeted USD 82 million (island development plus construction works). On February 20, 2019, was held facility's groundbreaking ceremony. Home page with highlights and listing of reviews, port guides and articles.

Cruise Vacations Whats Included & Popular Destinations

the carnival cruise

Carnival has an impressive fleet of vessels and adds more every year. There are currently 24 ships with more maiden voyages scheduled later this year. Later in the year, the name was revealed to be Carnival Jubilee. In 1996, the new Destiny class was introduced, with the Carnival Destiny.

Cruises

Designed for kicking back al fresco, you’re in for some amazing ocean views… views so stunning you’ll just have to feel ‘em to believe ‘em. Family Harbor staterooms, with their unique nautical décor, can be found near Carnival Jubilee™ own Family Harbor Lounge — an exclusive spot with breakfast, snacks during the day, plus board games, family movies, video games and more. The benefits don’t end there — your little girls and boys eat free in most onboard specialty restaurants and get a free evening of Night Owls babysitting service, so you can enjoy a little alone time. Haute cuisine meets atmosphere at Fahrenheit 555™, a dining experience that stands toe-to-toe with some of the best steakhouses on land.

You’re our first priority.Every time.

Once you've got the basics down, uncovering the deals becomes fun and easy. Since your huge Suite on Carnival Jubilee™ affords you VIP status, you're in the priority line when getting on and off the ship… plus Suites come with exclusive perks! Balcony staterooms are proof that while it’s great to be cruisey… on vacation, breeziness is a virtue too. And any time you’re in your well-appointed Balcony stateroom aboard Carnival Jubilee™, you’re just steps away from the outdoors by way of your private open-air oasis.

Night Exotic Southern Caribbean Cruise

Those trips can come with a substantial price tag, which is why, as a budget option, Carnival is such a great choice. Because all staterooms are designed for double occupancy, it's generally a rule that a person traveling alone must pay both fares. This means they would pay twice as much per person as two people sharing a room. At the time of publication, prices started from $47 per person, per night, for an inside cabin. It's also one of the few vessels left in the fleet that still features jaw-dropping interiors designed by renowned architect Joe Farcus, who made Carnival synonymous with quirky patterns, bright colors and neon lights.

Fun for your whole crew

Maybe wacky pool games are your thing, or trivia sessions on such wide-ranging topics as Star Wars, Company Slogans, or Weird Laws. Available on the Carnival FunHUB App or via the printed FunTimes Daily Program delivered onboard, there’s something to suit every age, taste and interest. In industry-speak, how easily passengers move about a ship is called “flow”.

Compare that to the 65% of cabins on Royal Caribbean's Symphony of the Seas (launched in 2018) that are balcony cabins. Unlike some of its biggest competitors, Carnival isn't known for a huge range of cabin categories on its vessels. Initially built in 2019 for Costa Cruises, this ship joined the Carnival fleet in 2023. Carnival Venezia is ideal if you’re looking for a ship that celebrates one of Italy’s most iconic cities.

Carnival Cruise Drinks and Wi-Fi Deals, Plus Casino Deals

Design-wise, Carnival's cabins and suites are fairly basic and comfortable, if not super stylish. Cabins on recently unveiled or overhauled vessels have a soothing palette of creams and blues. Cabinetry in these rooms is a crisp and clean faux wood, and cabin bathrooms are neutral. In recent years, Carnival also has deployed two of its vessels to Australia to operate voyages from Sydney and Brisbane.

Havana Staterooms & Suites

Carnival Conquest is one of the line's oldest ships, but it's also a ton of fun. Because short sailings tend to attract a more lively crowd, passengers can expect lots of dancing, socializing and late nights at Henri's Dance Club. During the day, passengers enjoy spending time around the pool and grabbing free burgers from Guy's Burger Joint.

the carnival cruise

However, it's not as difficult as it might at first seem to hit the more rewarding higher-level tiers in just a few years if you're cruising a lot. In fact, the lower tiers of the Carnival program are among the most stingy in the entire cruise universe. You'll receive things like a single complimentary bottle of water (at the Red tier) and a single free drink that only can be ordered on the last night of a cruise (at the Gold tier). Note that three of the line's newest ships — Mardi Gras, Carnival Celebration and Carnival Venezia — do not have launderettes.

Breakfast is offered there each morning, and snacks and drinks — including free soda — are provided throughout the day. Cabins in the Family Harbor category feature a nautical theme, plenty of storage and space to sleep at least four people. The biggest suites on Carnival Panorama, the ship's eight Grand Suites, have 345 square feet of interior space, plus an 85-square-foot balcony. Contrast that to the biggest suites on Royal Caribbean ships, which can measure more than 1,500 square feet. The typical Carnival balcony cabin has a contemporary look, with clean lines and relatively minimalist furniture.

Carnival’s most popular cocktail watering hole, Alchemy Bar has been tucked into a narrow passageway on Deck 7 that’s constantly brimming with patrons coming from dinner or exiting the Limelight Lounge. With Carnival Celebration, Carnival has started to bring more interesting décor in public spaces back, in a more modern (and perhaps accessible) way. These include the Miami-themed sandwich and pizza joints, Miami Slice and Deco Deli, on Deck 8 aft that channel the vibrant, often neon look found in Miami’s South Beach neighborhood. Nearby, Bar 820 offers up South Florida-themed cocktails and coffees in a clever space that includes indoor and outdoor seating.

This evidence is all around you — you’ll find in the Caribbean air, the sand and the water. And with more than 5,000 islands and cays spread across this amazing region, there’s a lot of paradise to see. Best of all, the mild climate means it doesn’t even matter what time of year you go. A Carnival Caribbean cruise takes you to some of the coolest little hotspots… stretching across the world’s designated hotspot.

Men are not required to wear a suit jacket or tie in any venue. Carnival is also one of the most family-oriented lines in the industry, and you're bound to see lots of kids onboard, even during the school year. When school is out, you can expect the number of kids to be well into the hundreds. A good travel agent will quiz you about your particular interests, travel style and preferences, and steer you to the perfect cruise line, ship, itinerary and cabin for you. They can also help you if something goes wrong just before, during or after your voyage. Members earn one point for every night they sail on one of the line's ships.

They’re not concerts, they’re not exactly plays… these shows are something else entirely. Every performance is built on amazing songs you know and love, presented like you’ve never seen before. Carnival Jubilee™ plays host to a lineup of shows like Soulbound and its spooky, atmospheric R&B and Visual Symphony, with innovative LED walls and special effects three decks high. Let’s see what else… debuting right here there’s Dear Future Husband, an interactive pop-wedding adventure.

It has been around since 1972 and is part of the Carnival family of cruise lines that includes Princess, Holland America and Cunard. If you’re thinking of booking a Carnival cruise, be it on the new Carnival Celebration or any of Carnival's other massive ships, here’s what to expect and how to enjoy your time at sea. Inside, you'll find activities that range from trivia and Bingo during the day to comedy shows and high-tech song-and-dance revues at night.

Better comfort, lighting and storage all spring from a deep understanding we've developed around how people actually use their staterooms… and how small changes to the room add up to make the experience that much better. (Enough USB charging ports for everybody’s stuff? Oh yes!) Thoughtful, guest-centric design is how we do it… and all this in-room convenience comes paired with a fresh new look. The Bonsai Teppanyaki™ experience is set to delight guests aboard Carnival Jubilee™. Take a little time out of vacation to sit down to a selection of tempting appetizers, before your chef prepares the main course featuring selections of meats, tofu, fish, shrimp or lobster… right at your table. In the teppanyaki tradition — and Carnival’s tradition of fun — expect an interactive, satisfying meal full of surprise and delicious delight. Rudi’s Seagrill™ is the brainchild of cookbook author and master chef Rudi Sodamin.

Your "music cruise tickets" prices are inclusive of all meals on the boat and add to that the 24-hr room service onboard. This means all main dining rooms and the buffet dining, specialty restaurants charge extra (from ~$20 to $50 per meal). Now 25 sailings later, The Rock Boat hosted by Sister Hazel remains a flagship event of Sixthman’s busy annual schedule. What’s more, Norwegian Cruise Line officially acquired the company in 2012, which meant a stable supply of ships outfitted with the exact specs needed to pull off months of musical sailings. Sixthman is now also helmed by Jeff Cuellar, the former festival director of the massive Bonnaroo music festival in Tennessee. And these days, instead of planning a four-day fest for tens of thousands, he’s in charge of filling a four-month block’s worth of programming for a variety of niche but passionate audiences.

Welcome to Jamrock Reggae Cruise

While music festival cruises do tend to be a bit more expensive than the average festival experience, I personally think they are worth every penny. Cruise with 311 and a number of other top alternative and rock bands including Arrested Development and Less Than Jake on this fun-packed voyage. Join other brodels and slinkies as you set sail for Belize and Honduras, enjoying live music and a number of themed activities on-board with the 311 members. Enjoy your own classic rock festival at sea with this Bahamas voyage headlined by top acts such as Roger Daltrey and Deep Purple.

Billed as "the greatest feel-good party at sea," the '70s Rock and Romance Cruise returns in 2025 with a star-studded lineup of the grooviest acts at sea. She has worked in the cruise industry since 2015 and has taken over 30 cruises. Now, she helps over 1 million people per month to plan their perfect cruise holidays.

This fun song with possibly controversial lyrics is a cheesy favorite of mine. Sadly, Israel has passed away, but he’s left his music, voice and hopeful message for us to enjoy. Sometimes I even sing, although not well, so I won’t be entering any cruise karaoke contests. Find out details of the 2025 sailing when they're announced on the Browns Fan Cruise website. Find the complete list of sailings, featured crafts, pricing and reservation details on the Cruise & Crop website. It's a honky-tonk week at sea as Old Crow Medicine Show, John Hiatt, Lucinda Williams, Steve Earle, Carlene Carter, The Beat Farmers and more join the ranks of musicians set to perform on the ninth Outlaw Country Cruise.

The cruise line has partnered with PerryGolf for its specialty golf cruises that visit more than 80 courses worldwide each year. One of the most unusual aspects of this themed sailing is the passenger-led "Shadow Cruise," which allows the community to create and promote passenger-led workshops, training and special interest meetups. Join more than 2,000 gamers on a vacation where nearly every tabletop game invented is available to play.

There will also be collaboration shows from some of the artists on board, as well as autograph sessions for fans to meet their favorite musicians. The ship features five different venues where notable country acts like Old Crow Medicine Show, John Hiatt, Lucinda Williams, Steve Earle and Carlene Carter will perform. Along with endless concerts, passengers can enjoy activities like yoga classes and film screenings. Along with multiple music sets, Groove Cruise hosts fun theme party nights focusing on everything from an '80s prom to fire and ice. Prices for ShipRocked's 2025 cruise start at $1,600 per person for an inside cabin.

We set sail from San Pedro, CA May 2nd - 5th, 2025 and stopping at Ensenada, MX over Cinco de Mayo Weekend aboard Royal Caribbean’s spectacular Navigator of the Seas. For blues and jazz fans, Sixthman also offers the Keeping the Blues Alive at Sea X cruise, which sails from Miami and stops in Harvest Caye, Belize, and Costa Maya, Mexico. Aboard Norwegian Gem, passengers will have access to ship amenities like pools and a casino in addition to special music events. Your dance/music cruise infrastructure is pretty much like a normal sailing - but it's not, ok? The cruise part as always, includes tanning, swimming, drinking, dining, sleeping (with the "repeat until" command) summarized as "easy big-time fun".

The dance cruise experience is a major part of the "Music Cruise" specials - especially when famous bands and singers are involved in these actions. And these "musical" deals suggest a hell of a lot dancing on the ship. Imagine you can enjoy (if fortunate enough) your super cool band's performance at sea. There are some truly unique sailings, which include huge crowd dancing parties featuring NKOTB (with the "New Kids On The Block" celebrities). In the early aughts, fans begged the management of Central Florida band Sister Hazel to organize a weekend hangout with the musicians, which led to an inaugural Labor Day cruise.

There are artist Q&A sessions, panel discussions, game shows and even wine tasting events you can take part in around the various live performances. The rates for the 2025 cruise start at $1,630 per person for an inside cabin. If you're a little more country than rock 'n' roll, maybe a cruise with a country twang is the right vacation for you. In February, Norwegian Gem will host the ninth installment of the popular Outlaw Country Cruise.

What If Your Bag Is Over 50 Pounds On Carnival Cruise?

For those seeking a quick overview of the luggage guidelines for Carnival Cruise, the table below offers concise answers to the most common questions. A sunburn can quickly turn a relaxing vacation into a painful experience. During my decade of working at beauty publications, I’ve heard multiple dermatologists say that the best sunscreen is one you’ll actually use. For me, that generally means avoiding anything too sticky or with a strong synthetic smell.

Can You Bring Drinks On A Carnival Cruise?

Guests can upgrade from one plan to another and use multiple devices, per plan, including their smart phone, laptop or the shipboard internet café, but only one device can be used at a time. The Lido Restaurant is open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner and has a more relaxed dress code than the main dining room(s); however, please respect that the Lido Restaurant is not the pool area. Shirts, bathing suit cover-ups and footwear should be worn at all times. Birth certificates from Puerto Rico issued prior to July 1, 2010, are not valid forms of proof of citizenship and are not accepted by U.S. Guests from Puerto Rico either need to present a WHTI-compliant document or a government-issued photo ID with a validated birth certificate issued after July 1, 2010.

6 Simple Ways to Speed Up Your Cruise Ship Embarkation Process - Cruise Critic

6 Simple Ways to Speed Up Your Cruise Ship Embarkation Process.

Have Fun. Be Safe

Yes, on embarkation day, guests aged 21 and older can bring one 750-ml bottle of sealed/unopened wine or champagne per person in their carry-on luggage. Cruises are known for their all-inclusive atmosphere, and they really do a good job of providing anything you could need aboard the ship in my experience. However, that doesn’t mean you should leave your reusable water bottle behind. You’ll still need it when you deport the ship for an excursion, and trust me you’ll be thanking yourself for bringing it with you to the cruise ship’s pool. Water may be readily available on the boat, but an insulated tumbler will do a better job at keeping your drink cold than a glass, and you’ll be refilling it less often. I’ve been loyal to my Hydro Flask water bottle for about five years now and can attest to its ability to keep your drink cold for up to 24 hours.

No, Carnival Cruise’s Liquor and Beverage Policy prohibits guests from bringing bottled water on board. By following these steps, you’ll be well-prepared for your Carnival Cruise journey, ensuring that your luggage meets the cruise line’s requirements and contributes to a smooth boarding process. Dramamine is the first thing I buy for all of my trips and the only reason I’m able to keep up with my cruising habit. I even once found myself buying a German version of this pill when I didn’t bring enough on a Europe trip (though it did make for one of my all-time most interesting souvenirs). While I’ve tried nonoral remedies for motion sickness, such as patches and wristbands, I find that these pills are the only thing that ward off my nausea completely.

For those sunny destinations, don’t forget your sunglasses and sunscreen. If you’re visiting non-English speaking locations, translation and guide books can be invaluable (or use your phones). Additionally, if you want to join in the Carnival Cruise Elegant Nights, consider packing a formal dress, suit, or even a tuxedo for those special occasions. As the sun sets and the evening activities begin, you’ll might want to change into something a bit more formal. Casual dresses for women and slacks paired with collared shirts for men are perfect for most nights.

Carnival Carry-on Bag Rules

Items are to be collected in a designated lounge on debarkation morning. Liquor may be subject to Customs duty if it exceeds allowable amount. These cards cannot be used to travel by air outside the United States. If you accidentally misplace them, it will be easier for the crew to return them to you. If any item is deemed dangerous or poses a risk to the vessel or its guests, Carnival reserves the right to confiscate it. In today’s digital age, your phone, camera, and other electronic devices are likely to accompany you.

BTFBM Summer Bohemian Floral Casual Wrap Dress

I’ve been wanting to try this Kopari Sun Shield Body Glow since seeing it on social media because it goes beyond just your typical SPF formula. I’ve never been a big fan of flip-flops and other popular slide styles I’ve tried are so chunky that they feel heavy. This style is waterproof and offers a platform that’s thick but not too bulky so that you feel comfortable walking around in them beyond the pool deck. Plus, the metallic design is fun while still being neutral enough to go with all of your swimsuits. I may have to pick them up in both the rose gold and the silver colorways.

If guests have not pre-paid their gratuities, the recommended, per person, amount will be posted to their Sail & Sign account on the second to last day of the cruise. Should a guest not be satisfied with the service they receive, they can contact the Guest Services desk while on board. This will allow us to address their concerns in a timely and appropriate fashion. At the discretion of the guest, gratuities may be adjusted after they have been posted on the guest's account, while on board.

You can choose between three colors, each leaving a different metallic shimmer on the skin. I will definitely be covering myself in this sunscreen before heading to the pool. I’m usually not an outfit repeater when I travel, but you will see me wear this cover-up all over the ship.

There are certainly other packing rules you need to follow when going on a Carnival cruise. Not all bags may fit under the bed, potentially causing the cabin to feel cluttered. You can double-check the current Carnival luggage policy guidelines here and look under “How Much Luggage Can I Bring”. Remember, if you are travelling by plane for any part of your vacation you will also have to adhere to the airline guidelines too.

With the luggage flat on the floor (or other surface)  measure its widest point from one side to the other. Start measuring from the floor to the top of the suitcase, as if you are measuring its thickness. The way you measure your luggage for a Carnival Cruise and any other cruise line for that matter might be different to what you expect if you are new to cruising. Made by your trusted cruise accessories provider, CRUISE ON, these Carnival Cruise Luggage Tag Holders will last for many years of cruising. These are fitted specifically for Carnival Ships and Tags issued for all 2023, 2024 & 2025 itineraries.

Bottled water may also be purchased on board by contacting Room Service. Once on board, your purchase is non-refundable; you may take home any unopened bottles. All guests must complete their Online Check-in process no later than midnight (Eastern time) prior to their sailing date. During online check-in, you will be asked to select an arrival appointment.

However, there are weight and size restrictions that you must follow for every bag you bring. Other dining options offered are The Chef's Table, Bonsai Sushi, and Ji Ji Asian Kitchen®. And while your destination, itinerary and personal style will dictate which outfits you bring, we want to share our guidelines and suggestions. A Carnival ship has it all, from fine dining to casinos and shows to sunbathing, so here are some tips on how to dress to play or party. This will expedite processing by the Department of Homeland Security.

For cruises that begin and end in the same U.S port, the following WHTI-compliant documents are acceptable for cruise travel. Please note that if the cruise visits Colombia or Greenland, a passport book (valid for at least six months beyond the completion of travel) is required. A passport card with the same validity is also acceptable for cruises to Colombia. Once the luggage tags are printed, it’s essential to put them on correctly, as they need to be visible and secure.

Even though a guest has completed registration using Online Check-in, it is still the responsibility of the guest to present the required travel documents at the time of embarkation. Guests should check with their travel agent and/or government authority to determine the travel documents necessary for each port of call. Any guest without proper documents will not be allowed to board the vessel and no refund of the cruise fare will be issued.
